Direct Support Professional (DSP)
Job Summary
We are seeking compassionate and dedicated Direct Support Professionals (DSP) to join our team. In this role, you will provide essential support to individuals with Diverse Abilities, assisting them in their daily activities and promoting their independence. Your work will be vital in enhancing the quality of life for those in your care, ensuring they receive the attention and support they need.
Responsibilities
- Assist clients with Activities of Daily Living (ADLs) including personal hygiene, dressing, and meal preparation.
- Provide patient care and monitoring, ensuring the safety and well-being of individuals.
- Support clients in community integration and participation in social activities.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization within the living environment.
- Implement care plans as directed, including medication administration and vital sign monitoring.
- Engage with clients through meaningful interactions to promote emotional well-being.
- Assist with mobility needs, including the use of Hoyer lifts when necessary.
- Document observations and report any changes in client condition to appropriate staff members.
- Uphold HIPAA regulations to maintain client confidentiality.

Qualifications
- Experience working with individuals with Diverse Abilities or in a group home setting is preferred.
- Knowledge of first aid and CPR is essential; certifications are a plus.
- Experience in caregiving roles such as home health, hospice care, or senior care is beneficial.
- Ability to assist with personal hygiene, grooming, and safe transfer techniques.
- Strong communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively within a team environment.
- Must have a valid driver license and vehicle with auto insurance.
- A compassionate approach towards individuals with autism, dementia, Alzheimer’s disease, or other disabilities is crucial.
- Must be willing to undergo background checks as part of the hiring process.
